Sometimes we don't feel safe in our minds OR our bodies and when that happens life can feel even heavier. It's ok to need support, we've all been there, and I am here to offer just that.

I'm Katy Keese, LPC, NCC, and Somatic Experiencing® (SE)-Advanced Student. I am a somatic therapist that focuses on bringing your body into balance and your mind into greater ease.
What is Trauma and have I experienced it?
If you're human you've probably experienced some sort of trauma. Trauma isn't about a certain type of event, (while there are certainly things we would ALL agree are traumatic) its actually about you and your nervous system and whether or not it was overwhelmed at the time. Trauma can stay with us making us feel unsafe, anxious, depressed. We might experience body discomfort, flashbacks, or even ruminating thoughts that don't seem to make sense. The good thing is, YOU can heal from trauma. Somatic Experiencing uses the body as a guide towards peace and change. It is a powerful way to move through experiences that may be holding you back.
